WSU President Cantwell Appointed to Governor Ferguson's New Space Council
Washington State University President Betsy Cantwell has been appointed to Washington Governor Bob Ferguson's newly established Space Council. The council's primary mission is to advise the governor on strategies to maintain Washington's competitive edge in the space industry and enhance its global leadership in the field. Governor Ferguson emphasized the rapid pace of the space industry and the necessity for Washington to innovate and adapt to remain a national leader. President Cantwell brings extensive experience in space-related fields, having spent over two decades in leadership roles at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, and Los Alamos national laboratories.
