The breach affected thousands of U.S. hospitals and pharmacies that rely on Craneware's software for billing and accounting. The company has expelled the hackers from its systems and is currently investigating the breach. The stolen data includes a percentage of employee, customer, and partner records. Craneware's acquisition of Sentry in 2021 had expanded its access to 147 million patient records, highlighting the potential scale of the breach.
