Cooperstown Honors Revolutionary War Veteran with Patriot Burial Marker Unveiling
The Village of Cooperstown is set to unveil a Patriot Burial Marker to honor Revolutionary War veteran Abijah Fairchild. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 11:30 a.m. at the entrance of the cemetery at the First Presbyterian Church of Cooperstown. This event is part of a broader effort to recognize and commemorate the contributions of historical figures who played significant roles in the nation's founding. The marker will also honor Fairchild's wife, Sarah, who is interred alongside him. This unveiling is one of several community events happening in the area, including a Middlefield Farm & Flea Market, a Fiber Arts Festival, and a fundraiser by the Guild of Glimmerglass.
