Thai Ministry of Transport Accelerates High-Speed Rail Project
The Thai Ministry of Transport is expediting the construction of the first phase of the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail project, which is currently 55% complete. This phase connects Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima and is part of a larger plan to extend the line to Nong Khai, enhancing connectivity with Laos and China. The project aims to support regional trade, investment, and economic growth. Transport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn chaired a meeting to review progress and address challenges. The railway is expected to improve travel efficiency, facilitate the movement of goods, and stimulate urban development along its route.
