Amtrak Cancels Missouri River Runner Trains After St. Louis County Derailment
Amtrak has canceled several Missouri River Runner trains between Kansas City and St. Louis following a train derailment in St. Louis County. The derailment involved 26 cars of a 135-car Union Pacific coal train near Lewis Street, close to the Crescent Farms Golf Club. Although no injuries were reported and no hazardous materials were involved, the derailment compromised both tracks in the area. As a result, Amtrak has canceled trains 311, 316, 318, and 319, providing bus transportation as an alternative for affected passengers.
