Raytheon UK Reveals Red Kite Glide Bomb to Enhance RAF Arsenal
Raytheon UK has introduced the Red Kite glide bomb, a new weapon developed domestically with 95% UK content. This bomb is a derivative of the U.S.-made StormBreaker small-diameter bomb, sharing the same airframe but featuring UK-designed components such as the seeker, warhead, and mission system. The development of Red Kite aligns with the UK's Defense Investment Plan, which aims to maintain a balanced arsenal of high-end and lower-cost weapons. The Red Kite is designed to be a cost-effective solution, complementing existing UK weapons systems and enhancing the Royal Air Force's capabilities.
