Rupee Declines Against US Dollar Amid Rising Oil Prices and Treasury Yields
The Indian rupee has weakened against the US dollar, falling to 95.28 in early trade. This decline is attributed to a stronger dollar and elevated US Treasury yields, which have put pressure on the currency. The rupee's depreciation follows a 14-paise drop in the previous session. Forex traders note that dollar purchases by importers and profit-taking have outweighed favorable global conditions. Brent crude oil prices have also risen, reaching $83.48 per barrel, further impacting the rupee. Analysts suggest that the rupee may remain vulnerable due to these factors, with potential movement towards the 96.00-96.20 zone.
