Prince Harry Faces Legal Defeat in Privacy Case Against Associated Newspapers
Prince Harry, along with six other high-profile figures, faced a legal setback in their privacy lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited, the publisher of the Daily Mail. The claimants, including Sir Elton John and Baroness Lawrence, alleged that journalists unlawfully obtained information through hacking and other means. The court dismissed all claims, and the publisher is now seeking to have its legal costs assessed on an indemnity basis, which could result in a substantial financial burden for the claimants. Sir Simon Hughes, one of the claimants, has distanced himself from any campaign against the publisher, emphasizing that he did not intend to target Associated Newspapers.
