Orthodox Union Hosts Jerusalem Independence Day Event for English Speakers
The Orthodox Union (OU) Israel organized an Independence Day event for English speakers at the Ramada Hotel in Jerusalem, attended by approximately 2,000 people. The event featured several of the organization's senior leaders, including Executive Director Rabbi Avi Berman, Center Director Rabbi Sam Shore, and President Rabbi Stuart Hershkowitz. Participants included immigrants (Olim) and attendees from various English-speaking countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and South Africa. The event was marked by speeches that highlighted the contributions of IDF soldiers and the significance of Aliyah and integration into Israeli society. Rabbi Berman emphasized the prosperity of Israel and the sacrifices made by soldiers, while Rabbi Shore expressed gratitude for the flourishing state of Israel and the role of the OU in supporting the English-speaking community.
