Dan Sagalyn, PBS NewsHour Deputy Senior Producer, Focuses on Foreign Affairs and Defense
Dan Sagalyn serves as the deputy senior producer for foreign affairs and defense at the PBS NewsHour. In this role, he is instrumental in overseeing and producing the program's coverage of international relations and military issues. Over two decades at the NewsHour, Sagalyn has been responsible for booking and producing numerous exclusive interviews with foreign leaders, U.S. national security advisers, secretaries of defense and state, senior military officers, and members of Congress, among other key government officials. He joined the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer in May 1996 as a reporter, initially focusing on discussion segments concerning the Middle East, Asia, defense, terrorism, and intelligence. He was promoted to deputy senior producer in 2003.
