Airbus Advances Autonomous Flight Testing with MQ-72C for U.S. Marine Corps
Airbus has conducted a successful test flight of the autonomous H145 helicopter, known as the MQ-72C, for the U.S. Marine Corps. This test, held in Grand Prairie, Texas, marked the first integration of autonomy and edge computing technologies from partner companies L3Harris, Parry Labs, and Shield AI. The helicopter demonstrated its ability to autonomously avoid obstacles, showcasing significant progress in autonomous flight capabilities. Airbus is developing this technology under the U.S. Marine Corps Aerial Logistics Connector requirement, with plans for a production-ready capability by 2028.
