South Euclid Crash Damages Gas Line, Prompts Evacuations
A vehicle crash in South Euclid, Ohio, on September 9, at approximately 8:30 a.m., resulted in a damaged gas line and subsequent evacuations. The incident occurred near the intersection of Mayfield Road and Warrensville Center Road when a vehicle struck a utility pole and landed on a gas line, causing it to break. South Euclid Police, led by Public Information Officer Joe Di Lillo, responded to the scene, which was described as an "all-hands-on-deck situation." Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Residents and businesses in the affected area were asked to evacuate, and the city's reverse 911 system was utilized to notify nearby residents.
