Bear Attack at Canadian Uranium Site Halts Operations, Raises Safety Concerns
A 27-year-old man was killed by a black bear at a uranium exploration site in northern Saskatchewan, Canada. The incident occurred at a facility operated by UraniumX Discovery Corp, located 53 miles northeast of Points North Landing. The victim, an independent contractor, was attacked over the weekend, prompting the company to suspend all field operations at the Zoo Bay property. The bear involved was euthanized by a civilian before authorities arrived. The provincial Ministry of Community Safety is investigating the incident, and the bear's body was sent for a necropsy. Fatal bear attacks in Saskatchewan are rare, with the last recorded incident occurring six years ago.
