The Smithsonian Institution is actively seeking a Museum Specialist for its Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum (CHSDM) in New York City. This position is within the Curatorial Department and requires specialized experience in handling museum objects and using collections management software for metadata enhancement and object location. A key selective placement factor for this role is the ability to read Italian, German, and/or French, which is essential for supporting collection research, cataloging activities, and exhibition development.
