Astrobase Space Technologies Unveils India's First Privately Built FFSC Rocket Engine, Marking a Milestone in Space Technology
Astrobase Space Technologies, a Bengaluru-based company, has unveiled India's first privately built Full-Flow Staged Combustion (FFSC) rocket engine, named EVEREST. This development positions India as the fourth nation to possess FFSC engine technology, following Russia, the USA, and China. The FFSC engines are known for their high propulsion efficiency and are considered more advanced than conventional engines. The EVEREST engine, which uses LOX-Methane propellants, is designed to support reusable launch systems and cleaner combustion. Astrobase plans to conduct fully integrated testing, including engine hot fire campaigns, in the coming months, with the first flight targeted for December 2028.
