Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Impact Millions Across 7 States
Severe thunderstorms swept across multiple states on Tuesday, affecting millions of residents from the Northeast to the South and Midwest. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued warnings for storms capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and hail as large as 1.25 inches. Areas under alert included Connecticut, Michigan, Indiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. In Michigan, Wayne and Macomb counties experienced significant impacts, including hail and strong winds. The storms moved quickly, with speeds of 30–50 mph, and brought localized flooding risks due to torrential rain. The NWS emphasized the need for immediate precautions as conditions remained favorable for additional storms into the evening.
