Central and South America Lead Regional Travel Growth Amid Shifting Trends
A report by Amadeus and UN Tourism reveals that Central and South America are leading travel growth in the Americas, with Central America experiencing a 7.5% increase and South America a 5.5% rise in passenger traffic. In contrast, North America saw a slight decline, and the Caribbean experienced a contraction. The report highlights a growing interest in less traditional destinations, with significant search interest in countries like Guatemala, Belize, and El Salvador. Despite increased interest, actual bookings in Central America have not yet matched this growth, indicating potential for future expansion.
