IEA Highlights Alternative Oil Supplies Amid Middle East Tensions
The International Energy Agency (IEA) reports that alternative supply routes and increased exports from non-Gulf producers are helping to support global oil markets despite escalating hostilities in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia and the UAE have maintained significant exports through routes bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. Additional exports from the U.S., Brazil, Venezuela, and Kazakhstan have also helped offset reduced Gulf supplies. Emergency stock releases by IEA member countries continue to provide market support, with over 1 billion barrels of government-controlled emergency stocks available if needed.
