China Hosts Humanoid Robot Competition in Beijing, Showcasing Industrial Applications
The 28th China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition (CRAIC) National Finals took place in Beijing, featuring 213 teams from over 100 universities and approximately 350 robots. This year's event marked a significant shift as full-sized humanoid robots competed entirely without remote control for the first time. The competition focused on autonomous skills such as multi-terrain driving, intelligent obstacle avoidance, and part-sorting. It recreated real-world industrial scenarios, including high-risk inspection missions and production-line tasks, emphasizing the transition from an academic contest to a practical platform for identifying and cultivating industrial talent.
