David Stevenson Reunites with Birth Family After 65 Years of Separation
David Stevenson, who was abandoned as a newborn in London in 1960, has successfully reunited with his birth family after more than 65 years. Found in a London apartment building, Stevenson was adopted by the Stevenson family after efforts to locate his biological family failed. With the assistance of his wife, Julie, and the ITV series Long Lost Family, Stevenson discovered his birth mother, Petra, a Catholic woman from the Netherlands. Although Petra passed away in 2010, Stevenson has connected with her sister and cousins, embracing his Dutch heritage and learning about his mixed ancestry.
