Orland Park Hosts Inaugural Red, White and Blue Festival Celebrating Memorial Day and U.S. 250th Birthday
Orland Park, Illinois, launched its inaugural Red, White and Blue BBQ Fest to honor Memorial Day and celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States. The event featured a parade with Kendall Coyne Schofield, a two-time Olympic gold medalist in women's hockey, as the grand marshal. The parade route began on Jillian Road and Park Station Boulevard, concluding at Centennial Park West, where hundreds of spectators gathered. The festival included an amateur rib cookoff, children's activities, live music, and a fireworks display. Village Trustee Dina Lawrence expressed satisfaction with the event, noting the community's enthusiasm for outdoor activities as the weather warms. The festival is part of a series of summer events planned by the village, including Memorial Day ceremonies and Independence Day celebrations.
