Beond Suspends European Routes Amid Rising Fuel Costs and Airspace Closures
Premium leisure carrier Beond has announced the suspension of its European routes to the Maldives for the summer season. This decision comes in the wake of a significant increase in aviation fuel costs, which began escalating in February due to the Iranian conflict. Additionally, the airline has been affected by regional airspace closures. Beond, which specializes in luxury travel using Airbus A320-family aircraft, connects the Maldives with several Middle Eastern and European destinations. The airline plans to resume its European services in the winter season starting in October. In the meantime, Beond is offering affected passengers the option to rebook on winter flights or explore alternative travel arrangements. The airline, which holds a Maldives air operator’s certificate, lists cities such as Paris, Munich, London, Milan, Zurich, and Moscow as part of its European network.
