Sam Neill's Passing Spurs Surge in Two Paddocks Wine Sales and Charitable Donations
Following the death of actor Sam Neill on July 13, 2026, sales of his wine label, Two Paddocks, have surged dramatically. Neill, who passed away from pneumonia, had recently been declared cancer-free after battling stage three angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma. Fans have been purchasing his wines in tribute, leading to a significant increase in sales. Liquorland, a major retailer, reported that Two Paddocks pinot noir jumped from the 423rd to the 5th bestselling wine, marking a 1,828% increase in sales. Additionally, fans have been encouraged to donate to causes Neill supported, such as Sustainable Tarras, an anti-mining group he was involved with. The group received over NZ$20,000 in donations following his death.
