Bangladesh Government Prioritizes Semiconductor Industry to Diversify Economy

At the National Semiconductor Symposium and BEAR Summit 2026, the government declared the semiconductor sector a national priority, promising incentives, infrastructure, and support to position Bangladesh within the global supply chain. This move comes as Bangladesh faces mounting competition in its traditional garment industry, which has been a cornerstone of its economic success. The government aims to leverage its pool of engineering graduates and existing chip-design sector to become a competitive center for chip design, verification, and product engineering. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to integrate Bangladesh into one of the world's most strategically important supply chains, which powers various modern technologies.
