Central New York Faces Flash Flooding Due to Heavy Downpours
Central New York experienced flash flooding on Friday due to heavy and repetitive rainfall. The severe weather led to water covering parking lots and roadways in several areas, including northeastern Onondaga County. Reports indicated standing water in a plaza parking lot near East Syracuse and water covering roads in the Minoa area. Additional storm reports came from Madison, Oneida, and Chenango counties. The National Weather Service has warned of the potential for more severe thunderstorms on Saturday, urging residents to stay alert and have contingency plans for changing weather conditions.
