British Library's Massive Book Image Dataset Released on Hugging Face
The British Library has released a vast dataset of over one million images from digitized books, spanning from 1510 to 1900, on the Hugging Face platform. This collection, known as the '1 Million Images from Scanned Books' release, includes images categorized into embellishments, plates, medium, and covers. The dataset is a result of a digitization project in partnership with Microsoft and is available for public use under the Public Domain Mark. The images are algorithmically categorized, and the dataset is intended for research and educational purposes.
