Rise in Violence Against Hospital Staff Raises Safety Concerns in Healthcare Settings
A recent incident at Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minnesota, has highlighted a troubling increase in violence against healthcare workers. An EMT was attacked by a patient wielding a bed rail, resulting in injuries to four staff members. This attack is part of a growing trend of violence in healthcare settings, raising concerns about the safety and well-being of medical personnel. Only one of the injured staff members has returned to work full-time, underscoring the physical and emotional toll such incidents can have on healthcare workers.
