OPM Launches Electronic Service for Former Federal Employees to Access Personnel Records
The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has introduced the electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF) Document Request Service (DRS), a secure online portal designed to allow former federal employees to request and receive copies of their official personnel records electronically. This new service replaces the previous manual, paper-based process, which often required paper forms and agency requests, with a more efficient digital solution. The eOPF DRS aims to provide faster access to records necessary for verifying federal service, supporting retirement and benefits claims, and assisting with security clearance processing. OPM Director Scott Kupor emphasized the agency's commitment to modernizing federal workforce services, highlighting the new service's role in improving customer service and reducing administrative burdens.
