Uvalde CISD and Zurn Elkay Partner to Provide Safer Drinking Water for Students
Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) and Zurn Elkay Water Solutions Corporation have announced a significant donation aimed at improving drinking water quality in Uvalde, Texas. The donation includes 36 Elkay Pro Filtration filtered bottle filling stations, 19 Elkay ezH2O filtered bottle filling stations, 73 Elkay filtration conversion kits, and five years of Elkay filters for each unit. This initiative, valued at $370,000, is part of Zurn Elkay's Fountains for Youth program, which targets areas with high lead levels in drinking water and limited resources. The installation of these units will occur over the summer across five UCISD schools, ensuring cleaner, safer drinking water for approximately 4,000 students, faculty, staff, and community members. The donation was celebrated at an event at Dalton Elementary School, attended by UCISD Interim Superintendent Dr. Juan Hinojosa, Zurn Elkay VP Angela Hersil, Texas State Representative Don McLaughlin, and Mayor Hector R. Luevano.
