2,500-Year-Old Golden Helmet Recovered After Theft from Dutch Museum
A 2,500-year-old golden helmet, known as the Helmet of Cotofenesti, has been recovered over a year after it was stolen from the Drents Museum in the Netherlands. The theft, which involved a gang using firework bombs to break into the museum, also included the loss of three gold bracelets. Dutch art detective Arthur Brand, renowned for his recovery of stolen art, announced the helmet's recovery. The theft had sparked outrage in Romania, where the items are considered national treasures, and led to a significant financial allocation by the Dutch government for potential payouts.
