Character.AI Introduces Role-Playing Feature for Classic Literature
Character.AI has launched a new feature called 'Books,' allowing users to role-play as characters from classic literature. This AI-powered experience includes over 20 public-domain titles such as 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Pride and Prejudice.' Users can choose to follow the original plot or create their own narratives. The feature aims to enhance storytelling and entertainment by moving beyond Character.AI's standard chat functionality. This development follows previous safety changes by Character.AI, which restricted open-ended chats for users under 18 due to concerns about emotional harm.
