Minnesota Nonprofit Rescues 50 Beagles from Controversial Research Facility
A Minnesota nonprofit organization is taking in 50 beagles from Ridglan Farms, a Wisconsin-based biomedical research facility accused of animal abuse. The facility has been under scrutiny following allegations of mistreatment, leading to protests and break-ins. As part of a settlement to avoid prosecution, Ridglan Farms agreed to sell 1,500 dogs, with the Animal Humane Society stepping in to provide care for a portion of these animals. This action is part of a broader effort by animal rescues to address and mitigate the impact of alleged abuse at the facility.
