Evacuation Orders Lifted After Rapidly Growing Fire Contained in El Paso County
Evacuation orders were lifted for residents near Colorado Springs after a rapidly growing fire was contained on Monday. The fire, which prompted mandatory evacuations for homes on Passing Sky Drive, was reported to have been started by a lightning strike. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office coordinated the evacuation and road closures, which were lifted within an hour. The fire, fueled by erratic winds, was contained to approximately 40 acres. No injuries or property damage were reported, and fire crews remain on site to manage any remaining risks.
