Flossmoor Village Approves Road Closures for Hidden Gem Half Marathon
The Flossmoor Village Board has approved temporary road closures for the 2026 Hidden Gem Half Marathon, scheduled for September 12. The race, organized by the nonprofit Flossmoor’s Future, will take place through various neighborhoods, including Baythorne, Ballantrae, and Flossmoor Hills. The route will start on Flossmoor Road and finish on Sterling Road. The event is capped at 1,200 participants, with registration selling out quickly. Organizers are required to provide general liability insurance and will be responsible for race logistics, including timing, traffic control, and cleanup. The race aims to minimize disruption, with specific roads closed only during necessary times.
