Deborah Amos to Address Press Freedom Challenges at Giles Lecture
Veteran international correspondent Deborah Amos is set to deliver the inaugural Giles Press Freedom Lecture at the Milliken Auditorium in Traverse City, Michigan. The event, scheduled for May 28, will feature Amos discussing the evolving challenges faced by journalists today, including disinformation, declining public trust, and increasing threats to press freedom globally. Amos, known for her extensive reporting on the Middle East and migration issues, will bring her decades of experience to the lecture, which is supported by a gift from the late Robert and Nancy Giles. The lecture aims to highlight the importance of journalistic integrity and the role of the press in maintaining an informed public.
