Former President Biden Sues DOJ to Prevent Release of Interview Tapes
Former President Joe Biden has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Justice to prevent the release of audio recordings and interview transcripts related to his memoir project. The lawsuit arises from a public records request by the Heritage Foundation, which seeks the materials following a 2024 report that questioned Biden's mental state. The recordings, made during and after his vice presidency, were initially protected by the DOJ under Biden's administration. However, the DOJ under the current administration plans to disclose the materials, prompting Biden's legal action to protect his privacy.
