In a discussion with Variety India, Khan emphasized the importance of preserving the cinema hall experience, aligning with similar sentiments expressed by Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio. Khan highlighted the challenges faced by the industry in balancing box-office stability with the growing influence of OTT platforms. He proposed a flexible release model to protect the theatrical window, suggesting longer runs for major films and shorter ones for smaller productions.
