United Airlines Faces Nationwide Delays Due to Technology Outage
United Airlines experienced a nationwide delay in flights on Saturday due to a technology outage. The issue affected operations at several major airports, including Washington Dulles International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport. Passengers reported difficulties with check-ins, boarding, and baggage handling. The outage was first reported before 7:40 a.m., with over 430 reports logged by 8:23 a.m. United Airlines confirmed that the outage impacted their reservation system, hindering the processing of check-ins and customer tickets. However, flights that were already airborne or had left the gate were not affected. The airline has since resolved the issue and is working to return operations to normal.
