Nantucket House Offered for Free with Relocation Requirement
A $3 million house on Nantucket's Billionaire Isle is being offered for free, provided the new owner relocates it from its current site. This offer is part of Nantucket's Demolition Delay Bylaw program, which aims to preserve homes by offering them for free rather than demolishing them. The 1,736-square-foot Colonial home, located at 140 Surfside Road, is not threatened by erosion, unlike other coastal properties. The new owner must move the house within 180 days, with relocation costs estimated between $150,000 and $500,000. This initiative reflects a unique approach to preserving the island's architectural heritage.
