Over 65,000 Lose Power in Nashville Due to Storms and High Winds
On the evening of April 16, 2026, severe storms accompanied by high winds swept through Nashville, Tennessee, causing significant power outages. According to The Leaf Chronicle, the Nashville Electric Service reported that more than 45,000 customers were left without electricity. The outages extended beyond Nashville, affecting nearly 30,000 additional customers across Middle Tennessee. The storm also resulted in downed trees throughout the region, further complicating the situation. Utility companies, including Dickson Electric and Middle Tennessee Electric, reported thousands of outages, with efforts underway to restore power as conditions allow.
