Tesla Crash in Chino Hills Sparks Wildfire Threatening Hundreds of Homes
A Tesla vehicle crash in Chino Hills, Los Angeles, has ignited a wildfire, known as the Grand Fire, threatening approximately 650 homes. The incident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a rollover crash that set the car ablaze, subsequently igniting nearby brush. As of Thursday afternoon, the fire had spread across nearly 30 acres and was 50% contained. The situation prompted evacuations, which were lifted after about an hour due to the efforts of over 200 firefighters, 20 fire trucks, and three helicopters. One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized. Fire officials remain optimistic about containing the fire, with crews continuing to extinguish hot spots and strengthen containment lines. The cause of the crash and the condition of the Tesla driver remain unknown.
