BRICS Agriculture Ministers to Convene in Indore for Food Security and Trade Discussions
Indore is set to host a significant meeting of agriculture ministers from BRICS member countries, scheduled for June 12-13, 2026. The event, under India's presidency, will focus on critical issues such as food security, smart farming, global agricultural trade, and farmer welfare. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav have been actively involved in the preparations. The meeting will be preceded by a three-day session of the BRICS agriculture working group from June 9-11. The discussions aim to address various aspects of agriculture, including climate-resilient practices, digital agriculture, and the use of artificial intelligence and robotics. A joint declaration is expected to be issued following the consensus among the ministers.
