King's College London Event Features Discussion on China's Rise as a Global Health Superpower
King's College London is hosting an event titled 'China Cure: The Rise of a Biotech, AI Medicine and Global Health Superpower,' featuring Dr. Ruby Wang and Professor Kerry Brown. Dr. Wang, a clinician, strategist, and writer, will present her new book, 'China Cure,' which details China's transformation from a nation reliant on imported medicines to a leader in biotech and mobile-first healthcare. The book also explores China's expanding presence in global health across the Global South. Professor Kerry Brown, Director of the Lau China Institute at King's College London and former Head of the Asia Programme at Chatham House, will join the discussion. The event aims to explore how China's rapid advancements in health innovation will impact patients, health systems, economics, security, and global development. Dr. Wang previously served as Head of Health for the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in China during the COVID-19 pandemic.
