Ithaca Appoints Dr. Kehar Khan as New HR Director to Enhance Workforce Management
The City of Ithaca has appointed Dr. Kehar Khan as its new Director of Human Resources. Dr. Khan brings over two decades of experience in workforce management and organizational leadership, having worked across public, nonprofit, and academic sectors. His previous role was as Director of Human Resources for NeighborWorks Community Partners in Rochester, where he modernized HR operations. Dr. Khan has also served as Deputy Director of Human Resources at the University of Balochistan, managing HR operations for over 2,500 employees. He holds a PhD in Human Resources and Organization Development and has advanced degrees in economics, business administration, and law. Acting City Manager Dominick Recckio and Mayor Robert G. Cantelmo have expressed confidence in Dr. Khan's ability to strengthen the city's internal operations and support a strong, equitable workforce.
