Israel Seeks U.S. Approval for Expanded Strikes in Beirut Amid Lebanon Conflict
Senior Israeli officials have requested U.S. approval to expand military strikes in Beirut, as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continue operations in southern Lebanon. The IDF has taken control of strategic areas north of the Litani River, including the Beaufort Ridge outpost. The military is preparing to advance towards Nabatiya, a Hezbollah stronghold. This request comes amid ongoing Hezbollah drone attacks and a fragile ceasefire. International reactions include calls from the UK and Germany for Israel to halt its operations, citing civilian casualties and infrastructure damage.
