Gene Gamez Appointed Interim President and CEO of DART Amid Leadership Transition
Gene Gamez has been appointed as the interim president and CEO of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) as the agency searches for a permanent leader. Gamez, who has been with DART for nearly 30 years, previously led the general counsel department. His appointment follows the recent departure of Nadine Lee, whose contract was terminated by the board. The leadership change comes at a critical time as several local municipalities are considering measures to leave DART, and the agency prepares for an influx of visitors during the upcoming World Cup.
