Senator Mitch McConnell Continues Recovery at Home After Leaving Rehab
Senator Mitch McConnell has been released from a rehabilitation center and is continuing his recovery at home following a fall and subsequent pneumonia. The Kentucky Republican, aged 84, has missed several weeks of Senate votes, including a crucial Agriculture Committee markup where he voted by proxy. Proxy votes do not count towards advancing bills, contributing to the stalling of the farm bill. McConnell's office stated he will maintain an intensive physical therapy regimen at home and continue engaging with Senate business. His return to the Senate is expected after the August recess.
