Lake Tahoe Businesses Experience Labor Day Weekend Surge as Summer Concludes
Businesses around Lake Tahoe are reporting a significant increase in visitors over the Labor Day weekend, marking a final boost to the summer tourism season. Greg Laisle, owner of South Lake E-Bikes, noted that Saturday was particularly busy, with nearly all of his 65 rental bikes in use. He described the holiday weekend as a 'last hurrah' for many visitors, particularly those from the Bay Area, before they return to their regular routines and school. This late-summer rush follows what Laisle characterized as a strong summer for his business, with July typically being the busiest month. Brandon Miller, owner of Pine Nut Cycle Cafe, also observed that favorable weather conditions contributed to a high volume of cyclists. Miller referred to Labor Day as the season's 'final push' after a consistently busy summer.
