Fire at Pennsylvania Hospital Prompts Evacuation of Dozens of Patients
A fire broke out at the Lehigh Valley Hospital campus in Dickson City, Pennsylvania, leading to the evacuation of dozens of patients. The blaze, which occurred on Wednesday night, originated on the roof of an older medical office building, formerly known as Scranton Orthopedics, and did not affect the main hospital building. Emergency medical services from within a 50-mile radius were called to assist. Bystander videos showed smoke rising from the hospital's entrance and patients being transported to other hospitals. No injuries were reported, but the facility remained closed on Thursday for damage assessment. Geisinger hospitals received 13 patients, with varying conditions reported. The fire prompted a significant response from local fire departments and police, who assisted in the evacuation efforts.
