ASCO 2026 to Showcase Groundbreaking Cancer Treatment Trials
The upcoming ASCO 2026 conference is set to feature a series of pivotal clinical trials that could significantly impact cancer treatment protocols. Among the highlights is Johnson & Johnson's Erleada (apalutamide), which is expected to present results from the PROTEUS study. This trial aims to establish a new standard in treating high-risk, localized, or locally advanced prostate cancer by comparing Erleada to a placebo alongside androgen deprivation therapy and radical prostatectomy. Additionally, AstraZeneca's EMERALD-3 study will explore the use of Imfinzi (durvalumab) and Imjudo (tremelimumab) in treating hepatocellular carcinoma, while the POTOMAC trial will assess Imfinzi's efficacy in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. Other notable trials include Celcuity's VIKTORIA-1 for breast cancer and Kelun-Biotech's OptiTROP-Lung05 for non-small cell lung cancer.
